Awareness Week 2015
March 22-29, 2015 marked the first PHACE Syndrome Awareness week. More than 90 families from around the world sent us three photos...each trio of pictures became a personal 'poster.' More importantly, the posters were a way for families to quickly help introduce others to PHACE Syndrome, and an opportunity to portray each child as the brave, courageous and beautiful people they each are.
Below are each. We hope this campaign has helped you become aware of PHACE - and that while these children all face incredible medical challenges, they are ones worth fighting for.

What is PHACE Syndrome?
PHACE Syndrome is the uncommon association between large infantile hemangiomas, usually of the face, and birth defects of the brain, heart, eyes, skin and/or arteries. It is an acronym that stands for the medical names of the parts of the body it often impacts:
Posterior fossa abnormalities and other structural brain abnormalities
Hemangioma(s) of the cervical facial region
Arterial cerebrovascular anomalies
Cardiac defects, aortic coarctation and other aortic abnormalities
Eye anomalies
